Guyana’s NY 50th Independence Committee disassociates itself
from individuals purporting to be Committee Members
NEW YORK: Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary Celebration Committee (New York) has been notified that an individual by the name of Kamla Asha Balbachan has allegedly been holding herself out to be a member of the Committee, acting in the name of the committee and has also allegedly pursued certain actions that can potentially subject the Committee to liabilities.
I wish to state categorically that Kamla Asha Balbachan is not a member of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebration Committee (New York). She is not authorized to conduct any business on behalf of, nor is in way associated with, this Committee. The Committee therefore dissociates itself from this individual and any purported action on its behalf.
As General Counsel of the Committee, I have dispatched a letter to Kamla Asha Balbachan directing her to cease and desist from allegedly acting on behalf of a member of the committee or holding herself out as a member of the committee.
This Committee will aggressively pursue any individual or group that purport to use its name and/or intellectual property for their own private use, benefit or profit. The public is advised the Director of Communications should be contact for variation of Committee members. The names of Committee members are also listed on our website www.celebrateguyana50thinnyc.com.
